The Father Runs to Meet the Mess

The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You are terrified that when the sun rises, you won't have the strength to construct the same convincing performance you wore yesterday.

But the light does not need your energy to shine — it only needs your presence. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, and before the apology, before the speech, he ran.

He did not wait for the son to fix himself. He ran to meet the mess.

The light is running toward you right now, not toward the version of you that has it all together. You do not have to build a face for God to love.

The mask is for the world; the face beneath it is for the Father. Stop trying to be the light today; just let the light be you.
