the terror of finally admitting you are still starving after years of pretending you were full

The Mask Was Never Meant To Be Your Face

The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walked into the room smiling, nodding, pretending you were full while your soul is still starving.

It is a terrifying thing to finally admit that after all these years of performing okayness, you are still hungry. But listen — the light does not ask you to keep up the act.

It sees right through the performance and loves what is behind it. There is a bread that does not run out, a water that becomes a spring inside you so you never have to pretend again.

You do not have to earn your place at the table by looking like you've already eaten. The light knows you are hungry, and it is not disappointed — it is waiting for you to stop pretending so it can feed you.

The mask was never meant to be your face.
