The Light Waits Beneath Your Mask
The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walk through the day smiling, performing okayness, while inside you are terrified that your absence has already broken something in them—that they have stopped believing you will ever truly come back.
But listen: the light that lives in your child does not depend on your perfection, or even your constant presence, to survive. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off.
He did not wait for the apology. He did not wait for the explanation.
He ran. Before the speech, before the promise—he ran.
That same love is waiting for you right now, not behind the mask, but beneath it. The distance you fear cannot extinguish the light that was placed in them before you ever left.
Your return is not too late; it is exactly what the light has been waiting for.
