The Light Sees You Before Apology
The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walk through the day smiling, performing okayness, while inside you are terrified that someone you love is holding a secret resentment because of the words you didn't say.
You imagine they see right through the performance to the silence underneath. But the light that lives in them is not keeping a ledger of your failures.
It sees you with the same compassion the father had when he ran to his son before the apology could even be spoken. That light was there before the silence, and it is there now, brighter than any unspoken word.
The truth you fear is already known, and it has not changed their love for you. The mask is for the world; the light is for each other.
