The Light Sees Behind The Mask
The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walk into the room holding your breath, terrified that if you exhale, the grief will spill out and make everyone uncomfortable.
You smile at the right moments, nod at the right times, while inside you are crumbling under the weight of pretending to be okay. But the light sees what is behind the performance — it sees the tears you are swallowing and the ache you are hiding.
There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, covered in shame and filth, and he did not wait for the speech — he ran. He did not care about the crowd or the appearance; he only cared about the child.
Your grief is not a burden you must hide to keep the peace. It is the very thing that makes you real, and the light is not uncomfortable with your pain — it is drawn to it.
You do not have to hold it together for the light to love you.
