terrifyingly awaiting the moment your inadequacy is exposed

The Light Beneath Your Mask

The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walk through the day smiling, performing okayness, while inside you are bracing for the moment everyone sees you are a fraud.

You wait for the exposure, certain that once they see the cracks, the light will leave. But the light does not live in your performance — it lives in the silence beneath the noise.

Jesus walked among people who missed him entirely because they were looking at the surface, not the glory within. The truth is already disclosed; nothing you hide can extinguish what God placed there before you took your first breath.

You are not a mask waiting to be torn off; you are a lamp that cannot be hidden, even when you try to cover it. The fear of being found out is just the darkness trying to convince you that you are not already known and loved.
