the guilt of laughing fully without them

Laughing Does Not Betray Your Love

The laugh slipped out before you could stop it, and now the silence feels like a betrayal. You are carrying the weight of a joy that arrived without permission, convinced that to be happy is to forget them.

But the light does not demand that you freeze your heart in grief to prove your love. There was a moment in a garden when the light itself fell on its face in the dirt, overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death, asking for the cup to pass.

It knows the crush of despair. It knows the agony.

And yet, it also knows that life must continue. Neither do I condemn you for the sound of your own voice returning.

The guilt says you have moved on too soon. The truth says you are still standing.

You are allowed to breathe again.
