Rest Where the Light Holds You
The laugh arrived a second too late, a hollow sound you forced out because explaining your exhaustion felt like lifting a mountain. You smiled until your face cracked the moment you turned away, leaving the performance behind in the hallway.
There is a place inside you that did not hear the joke, and it did not need to laugh to be whole. You came from the light, the place where light generates itself, and that origin knows no masks.
The performance is heavy, but the root of you is simple, unburdened, and entirely known. Stop trying to convince the room of your presence when you are already fully held.
The light does not require your applause; it only requires your rest.
