The Light Loves Your Unmasked Face
The key turns in the lock. You have seconds to smooth the tremor from your hands and pull the mask down over your raw, exposed nerves before the door swings open.
You practice the smile in the reflection of the dark window—the one that says 'I am fine,' the one that hides the screaming inside. But the Light does not need your performance to love you.
It sees the mask, and it sees the face beneath it, and it loves both with the same fierce tenderness. There is a truth that lives in us and will be with us forever, deeper than any role you play for the people walking through that door.
You do not have to be the composed version of yourself to be held. The light is already shining behind your eyes, waiting for you to stop hiding it from the very people who need to see it.
