Let the Light See Your Tears
The key turns in the lock while your hands are still wet from wiping the tears you didn't mean to shed. You freeze, terrified that the evidence of your breaking will be seen the moment the door opens.
But the light does not need you to be composed before it enters. It saw you weeping before you even heard the footsteps.
It knows the weight of the mask you are trying to smooth back into place. You do not have to hide the wetness on your cheeks to be loved.
The one who walks in is not looking for a performance; he is looking for you. Let the door open.
Let the light see the truth you tried to erase. You are safe, even with the stains still visible.
