The Light Shines Even When No One Answers
The joy rises in your chest, small and sudden, and your hand moves instinctively to the phone. You want to share it.
You want to say: look at this. But the list of names is silent.
There is no one to call. The silence rushes in to fill the space where a voice should be, heavy and cold.
In this hour, the isolation feels like a verdict. Like you are the only one awake in a world that has moved on without you.
But the light does not require an audience to exist. It was shining before you had a name, and it shines now when no one answers.
The Father saw the prodigal while he was still a long way off — before the speech, before the return, before the connection was restored. He saw him in the loneliness.
You are not unseen because you are unshared. The joy you feel is not less real because it has nowhere to go.
It is a signal that the light is still working inside you, even in the quiet. The connection you crave is already holding you.
