The Light Sees Your Unshared Joy
The joke lands in your throat, sweet and sudden, and your hand moves before your mind catches up. You reach for the phone to send the photo, to share the absurdity of the moment, before the silence rushes back in.
There is no one on the other end. The contact list is full of names, but the connection feels hollow.
You lower the device, and the laughter turns into a quiet ache in the center of your chest. Performing okayness for the world is exhausting when you are crumbling inside.
But notice this — the light does not need a notification to see you. It was already there when the moment happened.
It witnessed the smile before you tried to capture it. You are not invisible just because the screen stays dark.
The light sees the joy you almost shared, and it holds it with you.
