The Gift With No One To Give
The joke lands in your head, perfect and sharp, and your thumb finds the name before your mind catches up. You hover there, ready to share the small brightness of this morning, until the silence reminds you: the number no longer connects.
The mask slips, just for a second, revealing the hollow space where the laughter was supposed to go. It feels like holding a gift with no one to give it to.
But the light does not require an audience to be real. That impulse to share, that urge to connect—it is not a mistake.
It is the echo of a voice that never left the room. The love you wanted to send out was already the love living inside you, waiting to be recognized.
