The Light Shines Without A Recipient
The joke forms in your mind, light and sudden, and your hand reaches for the phone before you remember. The screen stays dark.
The room is quiet. In that silence, the weight of the missing person presses down like a stone.
But listen — the light does not need a recipient to be real. It shines whether or not anyone is there to see it.
You are not defined by the empty space beside you. You are defined by the love that filled it, and that love remains inside you, unbroken.
The darkness has not overcome it. Go home to your own heart, where the light is still burning.
