scrolling through the photos from the party on your phone the next morning, searching your own face for a moment where you looked real instead of just helpful

You Are the Beloved in the Room

The house is quiet now, but your thumb keeps scrolling back to last night. You are searching through the flash and the laughter, zooming in on your own face, looking for a single frame where you didn't look like you were working so hard to be helpful.

You want to find the moment you were actually there, instead of just holding the room together. But the morning light is different from the party lights.

It doesn't need you to perform. It just needs you to be here, breathing in the new day.

The sun rising outside your window isn't asking for your service; it is simply shining on you because you exist. You do not have to earn your place in this morning.

The light that fills the room right now is the same light that was trying to reach you through the noise last night. It was there in the silence between the songs, waiting for you to stop managing and start receiving.

You are not the helper in the photo. You are the beloved in the room.

And the day begins not with what you can do, but with the fact that you are already seen.
