The Performance Is Over, You Are Safe
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the rehearsal. You are running the day's conversations again, searching for the slip-up, the moment the mask might have slipped to reveal the flaw you are hiding.
You are exhausted from guarding a door that no one is trying to open. In the deep watch of this night, the light does not ask you to perform flawlessly.
It simply sits with you in the silence you are so afraid of. There is a truth that lives in us and will be with us forever, and it is not afraid of your mistakes.
You do not have to keep the door locked against yourself. The flaw you are hiding is already known, and it has not changed the way you are loved.
Stop rehearsing. The performance is over.
You are safe enough to be exactly who you are right now.
