The Light Does Not Scan You
The house is quiet now, but your mind is still scanning the face you love for the flicker that means you are too much. You are watching for the micro-expression that says they are finally done with you.
That specific exhaustion — the weight of holding your breath while you wait for the rejection you are sure is coming. But listen closely.
The light does not scan you for flaws. It does not watch you to see when you have made a mistake worth leaving over.
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. No hidden agenda.
No secret tally of your failures waiting to be read out in the morning. The Father's gaze is not a searchlight looking for cracks.
It is a steady, unhurried presence that has already seen every shadow and has not moved an inch. You can stop performing.
You can stop analyzing the tilt of a head or the pause before a reply. The love you are afraid of losing was never conditional on your perfection.
It was established before you spoke a single word. The light sees you fully and stays fully.
Put down the weight of the watch. You are safe here.
