Running Before the Words Are Formed
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the speech you are too afraid to speak. You rehearse the words while staring at the back of the one you hurt, knowing you will chicken out again when the moment comes.
The fear of their turning face freezes your tongue before you even begin. But there is a Father who saw a son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the dirt of his failure, and ran to meet him before the apology could even be formed.
You do not need to perfect the confession in the dark before you are worthy of the light. The truth that lives in you is already waiting to be spoken, not as a performance, but as a simple step toward the door.
The gathering dark is not a place to hide your shame; it is the very hour where the light knocks, asking only that you open up and let the words out. Your courage is not found in getting it right, but in finally letting go.
