The Light That Waits Without Breaking
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the waiting. You are loving someone who is lost in the fog, watching them choose the darkness while you hold the lamp.
It feels like you are standing at a door that will not open, knocking until your hands ache. But the light does not break doors down.
It stands. It waits.
It knows that even in the deepest sleep, the spirit inside them is still calling out for home. You cannot force them to wake up.
You can only be the quiet presence that proves the light has not left the room. Your love is not failing because they are still asleep.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
