The Light That Does Not Sleep
The house is quiet now, but your heart is screaming. You are staring at their sleeping face, so peaceful, so unaware, while you hold the memory of the weapon they used to break you.
It feels like a betrayal that they can rest while you are wide awake, guarding the wound they opened. But the light does not sleep, and it does not look away from the pain you are carrying tonight.
There is a peace that exists even in the middle of this storm, a peace that does not require their apology or their awareness. You are not alone in this watch.
The same light that woke up inside you when everything fell apart is sitting right beside you now, holding what you cannot put down. The night is long, but the light has already won.
