The Mask Can Fall Now
The house is quiet now, but your heart is still shouting. You have spent the entire day holding up a mask so perfectly that no one saw the cracks forming beneath it.
You smiled when you were breaking. You nodded when you were screaming inside.
And now, in the dark, the weight of that performance is the only thing left in the room. But listen — the light does not need your act.
It never asked for your strength. There is a rest available that has nothing to do with how well you held it together today.
The mask was for them. The truth is for this moment.
You are allowed to let your hands drop. You are allowed to stop pretending.
The light is not waiting for a polished version of you to arrive; it is already sitting beside the exhausted one who is finally still. The performance is over.
You are safe now.
