hiding the tremor in your hands from your child so they don't know you're scared of not making rent
The house is quiet now, but your hands are still shaking. You held them still all evening so your child wouldn't feel the tremor, so they wouldn't know you are afraid of tomorrow.
You think you are hiding the darkness from them. But the light that lives inside you is not fooled by your performance.
It saw you tremble. And it did not turn away.
There is a love that does not need you to be strong to hold you close. You are not hiding from the light; you are resting in it.
The fear is real, but it is not the truth about who you are.
