Stop Pretending the Darkness Isn't There
The house is quiet now, but the air between you is heavy with the things you are both refusing to say. You watch them smile, watch them pour the tea, watch them perform the ordinary while their hands tremble just enough to betray the terror underneath.
You play your part in the charade because you think silence is safer than naming the fear. But in this hour, the light does not require you to be brave.
It only asks that you stop pretending the darkness isn't there. There is a love that casts out fear, not by ignoring it, but by sitting with it in the room.
You do not have to fix what is breaking. You do not have to hold the sky up for both of you.
Just be present. The light is already in the silence, waiting for you to stop acting and start breathing together.
