You Are the Silence Listening
The house is quiet now, and the recording plays back a voice that sounds like a stranger's. It feels wrong to hear yourself from the outside, as if the person speaking is someone you do not know.
But the darkness has not overcome the life that is the light of all. That voice you hear is just the surface; the true light shines within you, unchanged by how it sounds to your own ears.
You are not the stranger in the recording. You are the silence listening to it.
The panic fades when you realize the light was there before the first word was spoken, and it remains when the last one ends.
