You Are Not Failing, You Are Being Kept
The house is quiet now, and the mask you wore all day has finally slipped. You feel like a fraud for still hoping, for daring to believe that light exists when your own life feels so heavy.
But the light does not require your confidence to stay alive. It was there before you found the strength to hope, and it will be there when the strength fades again.
There is a bruised reed the light will not break, and a smoldering wick it will not snuff out. You are not failing because you are barely burning.
You are being kept. The hope you feel is not a lie you tell yourself.
It is the voice of the one who calls you by name in the dark, asking only that you remain.
