The Light Does Not Recoil From Trembling
The house is quiet now, and the inventory of the day begins. You remember the moment your body flinched, the sharp intake of breath that made them step back.
Shame says you broke something that cannot be fixed. But listen — the light does not recoil from your trembling.
It stood at the door while you were hiding, and it is still waiting to come in and eat with you. The darkness has not overcome the fact that you are still here.
You are not defined by the reflex of fear, but by the hand that reaches out again.
