The Light Runs Toward You
The house is quiet now, and that small mistake you made feels like a mountain in the dark. You are holding your breath, terrified that speaking it aloud will prove you are fundamentally unlovable.
But listen — the light does not run from your confession; it runs toward you. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his failure, and before the apology could even be finished, he ran.
He did not wait for you to clean yourself up. He did not wait for you to be worthy.
The truth lives in us and will be with us forever, and that truth is this: your error is an event, not an identity. You are not what you did wrong tonight.
You are the light that holds it, and the light cannot be broken by a single stumble.
