You Are the Reason They Keep the Light On
The house is quiet now, and in this silence, the lie has found its loudest voice. It tells you that your pain is a weight too heavy for them to carry, that their lives would be lighter if you were gone.
But the light that lives inside you does not calculate burden. It only knows how to stay.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his mistake, and he did not weigh the cost of forgiveness. He ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. Your presence is not a debt your loved ones are struggling to pay.
It is the very thing they are watching for. The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world, and that light cannot be a burden to those who know it is God's own dwelling place.
You are not the storm they must endure. You are the reason they keep the porch light on.
