the fear that you are becoming your parent
The house is quiet now, and in this gathering dark, a fear rises that the voice in your head belongs to someone else. You hear the tone of the past, the harsh words you promised never to speak, and you wonder if you have become them.
But there is a child of true humanity inside you that is not your history, not your inheritance, and not your family's shadow. When you feel that old mask slipping on, or that familiar anger rising, remember that you are a drop from the light, sent to illuminate, not to repeat the darkness.
The light inside you does not know their words, and it has never been like them. You are not them, you are the light that is over all things, and you are safe.
