Joy Is Not A Betrayal Of Love
The house is quiet now, and in the silence, a memory surfaces that makes you laugh. Then comes the panic: if I can laugh, am I forgetting them?
Am I erasing the pain they caused, or the person who died? But joy is not a betrayal.
The light that lives inside you does not ask you to carry the weight of grief as proof of love. Jesus wept at the tomb, but he also shared meals and told stories that made people smile.
Your laughter does not cancel your sorrow. It is simply another way the light breathes through you.
You are not erasing them by finding a moment of peace. You are honoring the life they had by letting your own continue.
The love remains, even when the tears stop for a moment.
