The Light That Runs Before You
The house is quiet, but your mind is screaming a question you would never speak aloud: would they be safer without you? This is the bottom of the night, where love feels like a liability and your own hands feel like the danger.
But listen — the light does not flee from your fear. It leans in.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his mistakes, and he did not wait for an apology. He ran.
He ran before the speech, before the cleanup, before the shame could say a word. That same running love is here now, in this dark hour, refusing to let go of you.
You are not the threat to your child. The darkness trying to convince you that you are — that is the enemy.
The light within you is the safety they need. It has not left.
It cannot be broken by your worst thoughts. Breathe.
The sun is still hours away, but the Light is already holding you both.
