The Light Steps Into The Pause
The house is quiet, but your chest is loud. You are mid-sentence, telling someone you are fine, when the phone buzzes with their name.
The vibration feels like a crack in the floor. The lie hangs in the air, suddenly heavy, while the light inside you flares up to expose the gap between your words and your truth.
You want to silence the screen. You want to silence the part of you that knows.
But the light does not run from the buzz. It steps into the pause.
It stands right there in the tremor of your hand. Thomas said the light is within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
Even the parts you are trying to hide. Especially those parts.
The buzz is not an accusation. It is an invitation to stop performing.
To put the phone down. To let the silence be honest for once.
You do not have to finish the lie. You do not have to be the person who has it all together.
The light is already shining through the crack in your voice.
