The Light Stands Guard While You Sleep
The house is finally quiet, but your mind is loud with the guilt of still being awake. You wonder if resting while the world hurts makes you complicit in the darkness.
But listen — the light does not keep a ledger of your wakefulness. It does not measure your worth by how long you can stay vigilant against the pain.
There is a peace that is not like the world's peace, and it does not require your exhaustion to be real. You are held even when your eyes are open.
You are held even when your eyes are closed. The guard can stand down.
The light remains on duty while you sleep. Closing your eyes is not an abandonment of the broken; it is an act of trust in the One who never sleeps.
