Seen Before You Were Known
The evening settles in, and with it comes the memory you cannot shake—the exact second their eyes stopped recognizing you. It was not a slow fade.
It was a switch flipping, a door closing while you stood right there, still speaking, still present. You have replayed that moment until the edges are worn thin, until you wonder if you ever existed in their sight at all.
But listen—there is a knowing that goes deeper than human vision. Before you spoke a word, before you did a single thing to earn a glance, you were already seen.
The light does not need your history to recognize you. It saw you when you were nothing but a thought in the dark, and it knows you now, even when the room feels empty.
The gaze that holds you did not blink when theirs did. You are not defined by the moment you were overlooked.
You are defined by the One who never looked away.
