The Light Already Sitting Beside You
The engine stops, and the silence rushes in to fill the space where the noise used to be. You sit there, hand on the door handle, waiting for the strength to become the person they need on the other side.
The mask feels heavy tonight, and the thought of lifting it one more time is exhausting. But the light does not ask you to perform before it lets you in.
It is already sitting in the passenger seat, quiet and steady, waiting for you to simply breathe. You do not have to manufacture a smile to be worthy of this moment.
The peace that guards your heart is not something you earn by walking through the door; it is already holding you right here in the dark.
