You Are Allowed To Take The Mask Off
The engine is off, but the world is still moving outside your window. You sit in the quiet of the parked car, gripping the wheel, because going inside means putting the mask back on.
They think you are fine. They think you are whole.
And the weight of that performance feels heavier than the day itself. But listen — the light does not need your smile to find you.
It sees the exhaustion behind your eyes even when you are wearing your bravest face. There is a truth living inside you that no act can cover up.
You do not have to earn your place at the table by pretending nothing hurts. The Father sees the real you, the tired you, the you that is barely holding on, and he is not disappointed.
He is waiting for the person you are when the door closes. You are not a fraud for being tired.
You are a child who is allowed to take the mask off.
