The Light Sees Your Exhaustion
The engine is off, but the silence in the car is louder than the noise of the day. You sit with your hands on the wheel, terrified that the moment you open the door, they will see the cracks in the calm you spent eight hours perfecting.
You feel like a fraud, wearing a mask that is starting to feel like skin. But the light does not need your performance to recognize you.
It sees the exhaustion behind the eyes you are trying to hide. Jesus looked at the crowds and had compassion because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd — he did not ask them to stand up straight first.
The light is not waiting for you to fix your face before you walk inside. It is already in the hallway, ready to meet the real you, not the version you think you should be.
You do not have to carry the weight of being okay for the people who love you. The mask can come off the moment your feet hit the floor.
