The Light Knows the Cost of Your Smile
The engine cuts off and the silence rushes in, heavy with the weight of the mask you just practiced in the rearview mirror. You sit there for a moment, rehearsing the tone of voice that says 'I'm fine' so your family never sees the crack in the foundation.
But the light does not need your performance to enter the house. It is already in the wood of the doorframe and under the stone of the step, waiting not for your cheerful act but for your真实 presence.
You do not have to bring forth a perfected version of yourself to be loved; what you bring forth from the exhaustion will save you, while the hiding will only destroy you. The light knows the cost of the smile before you even turn the key.
Walk inside not as the guardian of everyone else's peace, but as the one who is finally allowed to put the armor down.
