You Do Not Have to Be the Calm One
The door opens, and your lungs lock tight. You are holding your breath, waiting to see if the person walking in is safe, or if the storm you carry will spill onto them.
This is the exhaustion of the evening — the armor you wore all day finally feeling heavy enough to crush you. But listen — the light does not ask you to hold it in.
It sighs. A deep, human sigh before it speaks peace into the broken places.
You do not have to be the calm one tonight. You only have to be the honest one.
The love that lives inside you is greater than the fear that makes you hold your breath.
