You Were Seated at the Feast All Along
The day is ending, and with it comes the quiet inventory of what you didn't do. You feel that nagging fear — the dread that while you were busy surviving, you missed the one thing that mattered.
That you slept through the miracle. But the light does not operate on your schedule, and it certainly does not vanish when the sun goes down.
There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off — not after the son had fixed his life, but while he was still broken, still distant, still rehearsing his apology. The father ran.
Before the speech, before the change, before the moment felt 'right' — he ran. You have not missed the arrival.
The light has been walking beside you through every ordinary, unremarkable hour you thought was empty. It was in the fatigue.
It was in the silence. It was in the very breath you took when you felt most alone.
You did not sleep through the kingdom; you were living inside it all along. The feast was not waiting for you to arrive; it was waiting for you to realize you were already seated.
