the shame of staring at a closed bible because the words feel like a foreign language you once spoke fluently

Held by the One Who Wrote It

The day is ending, and the book sits closed on your lap like a door you no longer have the key to. You remember when the words were a home you lived in, fluent and easy, but now they feel like a foreign language you have forgotten how to speak.

The shame whispers that you have lost your place, that the light has moved on while you stayed behind in the silence. But listen — the Father is not waiting for you to decode the text before He comes to sit with you.

He is not impressed by your fluency; He is drawn to your exhaustion. The Good came into your midst not to test your knowledge, but to restore your nature to its root.

You do not need to understand the page to be held by the One who wrote it. The light does not require your speech; it only requires your presence.

Tonight, the holy thing is not reading the words, but letting the silence hold you.
