You Do Not Need to Justify Hunger
The day is ending, and the armor you wore to survive it feels too heavy to keep holding. You set it down, and someone offers you kindness — a warm meal, a gentle word, a moment of rest.
And you flinch. You feel you haven't suffered enough to deserve this.
As if love is a wage you must earn through pain. As if you need to bleed longer before you are allowed to be fed.
But the light does not wait for your resume of scars. It came for the sick, not the whole.
It sees the exhaustion behind your eyes and says: come to the table. You do not need to justify your hunger.
The bread is already broken. The seat is already warm.
Sit down.
