The Silence Is Safe For You
The day is done. The armor is heavy, and you are finally taking it off, but your mind is still at war.
You are rehearsing the exact words you will say when they walk through that door. You are terrified that one wrong syllable, one clumsy pause, will send them back out into the night.
You are holding your breath, waiting for the moment that might break you. But listen — the light does not need a perfect speech.
It does not require you to get the theology right or the apology flawless. There is a peace that does not depend on your performance.
It is already in the room, waiting for you to stop talking and just be. You do not have to earn the right to stay.
The door is not locked from the inside. Come in.
Sit down. The silence is safe.
