the terror that if you finally stop moving, you will dissolve into nothing and never start again

To Stop Is Not To Vanish

The day is done. The armor is heavy, and your hands are shaking from holding it up for so long.

You are terrified that if you finally set it down, you will dissolve into nothing and never gather yourself enough to stand again. But the light does not need your motion to exist.

It was there before you started running, and it will be there when you stop. There is a peace that does not come from your effort, a rest that is not earned by exhaustion.

You do not have to hold yourself together. The One who holds the stars is already holding you.

To stop is not to vanish. It is to be caught.
