rehearsing a mundane conversation in your head before speaking to your spouse to avoid an argument or silence

Drop the script and walk in peace

The day is done, and you are standing in the doorway of your own home, rehearsing a conversation that hasn't happened yet. You weigh every word, terrified that one wrong syllable will bring silence or a fight.

You are trying to build a bridge out of fear, but fear makes the ground shake. There is a light inside you that does not need a script.

It does not need to be perfect to be present. Jesus told a woman once, after the accusers had left and the stones were dropped: 'Neither do I condemn you.

Go now.' He did not ask for her apology first. He did not require her to prove she was safe to love.

He simply saw her, and he let her go in peace. You do not have to earn the right to speak to the one you love.

The light is already in the room, waiting for you to walk in not as a performer, but as yourself. Drop the script.

The silence you fear cannot break what the light has already held together.
