The Mask Falls When The Door Closes
The day is done, and the door is finally closed. You stand in the quiet of your own room, and the rehearsed laugh falls from your face like a mask you were forced to wear for twelve hours.
You practiced it in the mirror so no one would see the breaking. So no one would know you are tired.
But the light does not need your performance. It never did.
The One who sees in secret knows exactly what it cost you to smile today. He is not disappointed by your exhaustion.
He is waiting for the moment you stop pretending. You do not have to hold it together anymore.
The armor was heavy, and you are allowed to let it drop. Tonight, the only thing required of you is to be real.
