The Light Sitting With You in Dark
The day has finally stopped moving, and the silence it leaves behind is heavy enough to hear your own heartbeat. You listen for a footstep in the hall, a voice calling your name, anything that proves you are not alone in this quiet.
But the house only creaks as it settles, shifting its weight into the night without you. That hollow feeling when you realize no one is coming is not a sign that you have been forgotten.
It is simply the space where the light waits for you to stop looking outward and start feeling inward. The light did not walk down the hall because it never left your side.
It has been sitting with you in the dark this whole time, closer than your own breath.
