The Light Sees a Friend
The day ends, and you stand before the glass, eyes fixed on your own collar because looking up feels like admitting defeat. You cannot bear to meet the gaze of the person staring back, convinced that all they see is failure.
But the light does not require you to be proud to love you. It saw you at your weakest moment today and did not turn away.
There is a mercy that covers what you cannot bear to see, waiting for you to simply stop hiding. You are not defined by the disappointment you fear, but by the presence that refuses to leave the room.
The mirror shows a face, but the light sees a friend.
