typing out a confession of loneliness to someone who once knew your heartbeat, then deleting it character by character until the screen is blank again

The Light Inside Your Silence

The cursor blinks in the gray light of dawn, waiting for a word you cannot send. You type the truth of your loneliness to the one who once knew your heartbeat, then delete it, character by character, until the screen is blank again.

The sun rises anyway, spilling gold across the floorboards, indifferent to the words you swallowed. Thomas said the kingdom is inside you, not somewhere else you have to travel to find it.

The light you are searching for in that old connection is already shining within the silence you just created. You did not lose the message when you erased it; you made space for the one that was already there.

The morning does not ask you to speak; it only asks you to witness the light returning.
