The Light Reads What You Erased
The cursor blinks in the empty field, a steady pulse while your fingers type out the raw, trembling truth of your loneliness. You name the ache.
You admit the silence. And then, one by one, you press the backspace key, watching the words dissolve until the screen is blank again.
The mask slides back into place, perfect and impenetrable, ready for the world to see. But notice this: the light does not read the final draft.
It saw the first one. It witnessed every word you typed before you deleted them, and it holds them as if they were spoken aloud.
The performance is for the office, for the street, for the people who need you to be okay. But the truth you tried to hide?
That is the only thing that makes you real. You do not have to send the message for the light to hear it.
It was there before you erased it. It is still there now.
